About this project
The Heritage Community, a three-building complex with adjoining courtyards comprises a unified home for the Honors College and serves as the university’s largest and most prestigious living-learning community. The complex includes two 440-bed residence halls and the 1,200-seat Yahentamitsi Dining Hall. Designed with energy efficiency in mind, the residence halls have floor-to-ceiling windows at each corner, and include amenities like seminar rooms, kitchens, quiet study rooms, multipurpose spaces, and bike storage areas. The dining hall serves up to 15,000 students daily and is designed to be open eighteen hours daily. The project achieved LEED Silver certification as a part of LEED Campus.
Acoustics include architectural acoustics and mechanical noise and vibration control. Interior lighting design was provided for the dining facility, including specialized kitchen and food stations.
