Achieving Sustainability and Wellness

A standout feature of this project is that it is Newcomb & Boyd’s first to receive both LEED Platinum and WELL Platinum certifications. Achieving these prestigious designations required meticulous planning, especially in areas like Acoustics and Specialty Lighting, to ensure a comfortable and sustainable environment for employees.

Consistent User Experience Across Spaces

One of the core principles of the design was to create audiovisual systems that provide a consistent and seamless user experience. Whether employees are utilizing a cozy 4-person Huddle Room or a spacious 20-person Conference Room, they can expect the same level of functionality and comfort. Each meeting space is outfitted with state-of-the-art video conferencing capabilities, auto-framing camera technology, beamforming microphones, and options for both wireless and wired video presentations. Additionally, a room scheduler and a control interface powered by Microsoft Teams Rooms enhances the usability of these spaces.

Occupancy sensors in each room offers automated control and real-time feedback, allowing the support team to efficiently monitor all AV systems throughout the building.

Versatile Spaces for Every Occasion

The new headquarters boasts large divisible spaces ideal for all-hands meetings, board and shareholder gatherings, training events, and even live music performances. The technology systems are designed for maximum flexibility, enabling everything from straightforward video conferences to complex live events with integrated audio and video production.

Architectural Elegance Meets Acoustic Comfort

The main event space features breathtaking views of the Atlanta skyline through 18-foot floor-to-ceiling windows on the top floor. This stunning design posed unique challenges for the acoustics and AV teams. Collaborating with HOK, the Acoustics team implemented solutions that maintain an acoustically comfortable environment, including the use of perforated wood panels to absorb sound. The AV team also meticulously considered external lighting when selecting screens and adjusting brightness controls.

A Grand Welcome in the Lobby

As guests enter the building, they are greeted by a striking custom DVLED video wall that serves both branding and welcoming purposes. Spanning 32 feet, this dynamic display represents forward movement, echoing the look of traditional stock ticker ribbons.

Integrated Content Management for Seamless Communication

A key innovation in the design is the integrated Content Management System (CMS), which was tailored to meet the diverse needs for displays throughout the building. These screens serve multiple purposes, including branding, digital signage, interactive wayfinding, and broadcasting important financial information, such as Bloomberg data. Our team meticulously designed a system that consolidates all content into a single platform, ensuring that employees can access relevant information from their desktops as well.
