Invesco's New Headquarters: A Showcase of Innovative Design and Technology
Invesco, a leading global investment management firm, has recently moved into its stunning new headquarters located in the 26-story Midtown Union development in Atlanta. This impressive space represents not just a new office, but a significant leap in design and technology, made possible by Newcomb & Boyd, which provided essential Audiovisual, Telecom, Security, Acoustics, and Specialty Lighting design services.
Achieving Sustainability and Wellness
A standout feature of this project is that it is Newcomb & Boyd’s first to receive both LEED Platinum and WELL Platinum certifications. Achieving these prestigious designations required meticulous planning, especially in areas like Acoustics and Specialty Lighting, to ensure a comfortable and sustainable environment for employees.
Architectural Elegance Meets Acoustic Comfort
The main event space features breathtaking views of the Atlanta skyline through 18-foot floor-to-ceiling windows on the top floor. This stunning design posed unique challenges for the acoustics and AV teams. Collaborating with HOK, the Acoustics team implemented solutions that maintain an acoustically comfortable environment, including the use of perforated wood panels to absorb sound. The AV team also meticulously considered external lighting when selecting screens and adjusting brightness controls.
A Grand Welcome in the Lobby
As guests enter the building, they are greeted by a striking custom DVLED video wall that serves both branding and welcoming purposes. Spanning 32 feet, this dynamic display represents forward movement, echoing the look of traditional stock ticker ribbons.
Additional Noteworthy Features
In addition to the primary features, Invesco’s headquarters includes an investor floor with digital displays and a stock ticker, a fully equipped broadcast studio, a café, and a 24-hour onsite security operations center. Each office floor also features a 5×1 videowall array in the pantry and break areas, further enhancing the collaborative environment.
Invesco’s new headquarters is a remarkable blend of innovative design, advanced technology, and sustainable practices, setting a new standard for workplace environments. As employees settle into their new space, they can look forward to a dynamic and engaging work experience that supports both productivity and well-being.
